About · Est. 2009
Two practices, one bench.
ExpertX has run as a father-son practice since 2009. Khurshid Alam leads the engineering studio — board-level hardware, firmware, PCB, and manufacturing. Erteza Alam runs origination — sourcing, structuring, and executing complex B2B deals across the sectors where engineering credibility and operator relationships move the work.
Principals
Khurshid Alam
Principal · Technical
Engineering · Manufacturing · Hardware
Khurshid has been a principal at ExpertX since the practice was founded in 2009. He leads the technical side of every engagement: manufacturing, hardware, industrial services. The categories where execution detail and supplier judgment decide whether a deal turns into delivered revenue or stalled paperwork.
On any engagement he is the person who pressure-tests scope and vets vendors against actual capability rather than slideware. He turns commercial intent into a sequence of work that ships. The trust founders and plant leaders extend to ExpertX is in large part trust extended to him.
The practice is built around what he sees on the ground. Complex deals don't fail at the introduction or at the signature. They fail somewhere in the unglamorous middle. That's where ExpertX lives.
Jason Khan
Principal · Engineering
Hardware · Systems · Architecture
Jason has been solving engineering problems in industry since 2006. Hardware systems across compute, networking, and consumer products, with a client roster that reaches deep into the Fortune 500.
On any engagement he is the engineer the design team brings in when the problem is unfamiliar: a new high-speed interface, a thermal envelope nobody has matched before, a system that has to function in conditions nobody quotes spec for. Clients use the phrase "world-class" on him without prompting. He's earned it.
Khurshid earns trust on manufacturing judgment and supplier credibility. Jason earns it on board-level architecture and the system thinking that turns clever schematics into products you can actually ship. Together they are what makes the engineering studio worth hiring.
Erteza Alam
Principal · Business Development
Origination · Network · Execution
Erteza is a principal at ExpertX and runs origination, network, and deal flow. His work spans construction, energy, manufacturing, semiconductors, defense, applied AI, capital markets, and real estate. Sectors where the right introduction is often the deal.
He maps opportunities to the network, opens the conversations that aren't on anyone's cold-outbound list, and structures the engagement so incentives align before any work starts. Khurshid and Jason carry the technical credibility. Erteza carries the operator relationships across the room.
The hybrid engagement model is his framing: success-fee on what ExpertX sources, project fees on what it delivers. It exists so the practice can say yes to the deals worth doing and no to the ones that aren't, without hiding what an engagement actually costs.
Where we operate
Construction, energy, manufacturing, semiconductors, defense, applied AI, capital markets, and real estate — sectors where deals turn on relationships and execution detail.
How we engage
Success-fee on what we source. Project fees on what we deliver. Three to five concurrent engagements; applications reviewed weekly.
